Henry Goode Blasdel (January 29, 1825 – July 26, 1900) was an American politician. He was the first Governor of Nevada, serving during the American Civil War and the first years of the Reconstruction era. He was a member of the Republican Party.
Blasdel was born on January 29, 1825 near Lawrenceburg, Indiana. He worked as a farmer, storekeeper and river boat captain before he came to Nevada in 1861, when he was appointed Recorder of Storey County.[1]
Blasdel was elected Governor in 1864, and re-elected in 1866. He served until 1870.
In 1891 Blasdel moved his family to Oakland, California, where he died on July 22, 1900.
